Joanne McLaughlin, author of Chasing Ashes and A Poetic Puzzle:
Releasing a novel into the world is a thousand-step process. A thousand complicated, extremely subjective steps best done with a team of highly talented collaborators. I found the truest, most skilled collaborators in Ann Stolinsky and Ruth Littner, the principals of Celestial Echo Press, which has published my two most recent novels, Chasing Ashes and A Poetic Puzzle. My five books to date have been traditionally published, self-published, and now hybrid published with CEP. Hybrid has been the most rewarding experience of the three.
My arrangement with Ann and Ruth is an honest-to-God partnership. We agree, we disagree. We consult, we debate. I get to do the creative stuff of writing and revising and seeking out beta readers to pick their way through my plot holes, then I lob it all over to Ann and Ruth for final editing and project management. Formatting, finding prospective cover artists, choosing sale platforms, setting prices—the many decisions grown-ups make, they make wisely. They are the second set of eyes on everything I conceive, and I am the second set of brain cells and typically the final say on what the reader sees.
In the past, I’ve done it all myself. I prefer not to anymore, because I can rely on Celestial Echo Press.
George W. Young
Published Author–goal of every writer, whether they admit it or not. And what a tremendous introduction to that personal accomplishment via Ann Stolinsky and Ruth Littner of Celestial Echo Press. First crossed paths with these two pros more than a decade ago when they lent their considerable developmental editorial skills to DracuLand, the eventual second of my published novels in our productive collaboration (2022). This long relationship began with my first novel, TIME Blinked (2021), a book which scratched the itch of our mutual love of the game of baseball and time travel. From initial concept through delivery in both hard copy and electronic form, the exacting diligence and professionalism of Celestial Echo Press elevated these publications beyond the efforts and talent of the writer, who remains grateful to have met and continue to work with them.
